Chicken soup, homemade from the broth of a whole chicken with the bones, this is where the germ fighting minerals are. I use a roasted chicken, it has much better flavor. After straining out the bones, add plenty of fresh vegetables and enjoy homemade, healing comfort food. I like to add carrots, bell peppers of all colors, onions, mushrooms, garlic and leeks. When the vegetables are soft, add the chicken meat back in. Let your cravings and imagination lead you to a delicious soup.
As for supplements, vitamin C – lots! Zinc lozenges will taste like metal once you have enough in your system.
